How to Get Your Certificate of Holding on OroPocket

The Certificate of Holding is a one-page document stating how much gold and silver you hold and at what purity. Use it when someone else needs to see your holding: an accountant, a lender, or a family member.

It is free and you can generate one whenever you like.

Step 1: Get the app

Download OroPocket from oropocket.com/app, then sign in with your mobile number and the OTP we send you.

Step 2: Open My Holdings

On the home screen, find the ASSETS row and tap VIEW ALL.

Step 3: Tap Certificate of Holding

It sits at the top of the sheet, above the holdings breakdown.

Step 4: Share it

The certificate is generated straight away, dated to that moment. Tap SHARE CERTIFICATE to send it on WhatsApp, email, or anywhere else.

What is on it

• Your name
• Gold and silver quantities, in grams
• Purity: gold 24K, 999 fine, and silver 999 fine
• The issuing company and the vault custodian
• A verification link and QR code

There is no rupee value on it. Grams are a fact about your account; a rupee value would be out of date within the minute.

Bitcoin is not on it either. The certificate covers metal held in a vault, and satoshis stay in the app.

How the other person verifies it

They open the link or scan the QR code, and enter a one-time code that is sent to their phone, not yours.

That is deliberate. If the code came to you, you would have to be present every time someone wanted to check it, which defeats the point of sending it.

Common questions

Does it cost anything? No.

Does it expire? It is a statement about one moment, so generate a new one when you need a current figure.

What if I hold both gold and silver? Both appear on the same certificate, each with its own line.

Can I get one with a zero balance? No. If you hold nothing, no certificate is issued.
