A nominee is the person we should contact about your holdings if we ever need to. Adding one takes three fields and about a minute, and there is no charge.

Step 1: Get the app

Download OroPocket from oropocket.com/app, then sign in with your mobile number and the OTP we send you.

Step 2: Open Profile, then Nominee

Tap the round profile icon in the top right of the home screen. NOMINEE is in the ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT list.

Step 2: NOMINEE sits in the ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT list on your profile.

Step 3: Fill in their details

Three things: their full name, how they are related to you, and their date of birth.

Step 3: name, relationship, date of birth. A child can be named.

Relationship is a set of buttons rather than a text box, with OTHER for anyone the list does not cover.

A nominee can be a child. The date of birth field accepts one, and that is deliberate, so a parent can name a son or daughter.

Tap SAVE NOMINEE and you are done. You can come back and change it whenever you like.

What a nominee does, and what it does not do

This is worth being straight about, because the word means different things in different places.

Adding a nominee here records who to contact. It is not a will, and it does not by itself hand your holdings to anyone. If a transfer ever has to happen, it still goes through our verification process and whatever the law requires at the time.

So treat it as making sure the right person can be reached, not as a substitute for estate planning.

Common questions

Can I name more than one person? The screen takes one nominee.

Can I change it later? Yes, as often as you like. Open the same screen and edit it.

Does my nominee need an OroPocket account? No.

Do they get told? No. Nothing is sent to them when you add them, so tell them yourself if you want them to know.

Does it cost anything? No.

Is my nominee’s information shared? No. It sits on your account and is not passed to third parties.
